ChatGPT Integration Enables Voice-Activated Shazam Access with AI Commands

· 5 min read

Users can now access Shazam directly through ChatGPT, eliminating the need to open the dedicated music identification app on their mobile devices. To enable this functionality, users must first connect the Shazam application with the AI chatbot via its Apps page. Once linked, the Shazam tool becomes accessible within the chat interface, allowing users to request song recognition using specific prompts such as “Shazam, what’s playing?” or “Shazam, identify this track.”

Upon issuing a command, a pop-up window will appear, offering users the option to initiate the music detection process. This feature enables ChatGPT to analyze the audio and provide details including the song title, artist, and album art, alongside an option to save the track within the Shazam platform. Notably, the integration functions seamlessly even if the standalone Shazam app is not installed on the user's device, making it particularly beneficial for those with limited storage capacity. The Shazam integration has been gradually deployed across ChatGPT platforms on iOS, Android, and web browsers worldwide.
